How To Recover Outlook Rules and Alerts
Export a set of rules
In order to quickly recover Outlook rules and alerts from a .pst file, they must be first exported to a RWZ file.
1. Open the .pst file with Extensive scan option.
2. Select Outlook Rules Organizer folder under Inbox folder in All Folders tree.
3. Right click and select Properties from the popup menu.
4. In the properties window locate to 0x68020102 property.
5. Right click and select Save As from the popup menu.
6. In the File name box, type the path and file name (Outlook.rwz) for the set of rules you want to export.
7. Click Save.
Import a set of rules
When you import rules, they are added to the end of the list of rules. You can import only one set of rules at a time.
1. In the Navigation Pane, click Mail.
2. On the Tools menu, click Rules and Alerts.
3. If you have more than one e-mail account, in the Apply changes to this folder list, click the Inbox you want.
4. Click Options.
5. Click Import Rules.
6. In the File name box, type the path and file name (Outlook.rwz) for the set of rules you want to import.
7. If you want to import a file that contains rules other than Rules Wizard rules, such as rules that are compatible with previous versions of Microsoft Outlook, click the file type in the Files of type list.
8. Click Open.
